AVENGED SEVENFOLD To Begin Work On New Album This Fall
June 28, 2012On June 21, AVENGED SEVENFOLD guitarist Zacky Vengeance was interviewed by "Démentièllement Vôtre" on Québec City's CKRL 89.1 FM radio station. The chat can be streamed using the audio player below.
When asked about AVENGED SEVENFOLD's plans for the remainder of the year after this past weekend's appearance at the Orion Music + More festival, Zacky said, "We've been home for awhile, just taking a little rest, and after these shows, we're gonna rest a little bit longer — just for the summer. We've never really had a summer to just be home and just unwind. But after that, as soon as summertime starts winding down, it's gonna be [time to start] getting together to start writing, working on new material. We're gonna be really excited to put out a new album. [We'll] just start the writing process. You never know how it's gonna go once you start, but hopefully we'll have some songs we're really, really proud of and get to work on recording them and get back out on the road again, hopefully sooner rather than later."
"Démentièllement Vôtre" is a metal radio show on the oldest independant Francophone radio station in North America, CKRL 89.1 FM. The show has been airing since February 2003 and can be heard every Friday night from 10 p.m. to midnight.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD's gold-certified album "Nightmare" earned the band its highest-ever debut on the Billboard album chart when it bowed at No. 1 and topped Billboard's Rock, Hard Rock, and Digital charts. The title track was the most played song at Media Base Active Rock for 2010.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD's music video for the song "So Far Away" is described as a "raw and emotional" tribute to the band's late drummer Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, who died in December 2009 from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. The track itself, which appears on "Nightmare", is said in a press statement to be a "very personal goodbye" to Sullivan.
